Al Esterbauer

Al Esterbauer is a senior partner in the Koskie Minsky Civil Litigation Group. He has a broad range of litigation expertise in areas of professional liability, real estate, insurance and commercial cases. His unique depth of experience has earned him the respect of his colleagues and has contributed to an ever expanding appellate counsel practice.
Al was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979 and joined the firm in 1985. His litigation practice has evolved and concentrated in the area of professional liability claims, particularly the defence of claims against lawyers. Al has also acted for other professionals, including real estate agents and brokers, actuaries, appraisers and insurance brokers. Al is recognized by Lexpert as a leading Ontario practitioner in the professional liability practice area.
With extensive trial and appellate experience, he has argued numerous cases which have resulted in decisions that significantly impact on Ontario law, particularly in respect of real estate and professional liability matters. Al regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
Al has lectured frequently for the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society, and the Canadian Independent Adjusters’ Association.
