Bankruptcy and Restructuring

Koskie Minsky’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group represents the interests of individual and business clients who are impacted by proceedings under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and Companies Creditors Arrangement Act, whether they involve a company shutdown, bankruptcy, receivership or corporate restructuring.
 
In a practice area that involves complex issues, tight deadlines, and competing interests from a variety of stakeholders, we are able to respond quickly, negotiate effectively, craft creative solutions, and when necessary, advance our clients’ rights in court.  Members of our group regularly attend before the Commercial Court of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Court of Appeal as well as the Supreme Court of Canada.

In bankruptcies and receiverships, we advance our clients’ rights to ensure that they can obtain the best possible recovery of amounts owing to them.  In restructurings, we represent our clients’ interests throughout the course of the proceeding to protect their interests and to secure the best possible arrangements for our clients post-restructuring.
